In September 2000 we asked Jane if she would consider singing in a quartet with us. 'No way' she replied 'I'm never singing in a quartet'. Fast forward 5 years and we're sitting in an arena in Detroit (well correct that slightly, Nancy is in the bar drinking wine because she assumes we've come 45th) and they announce that we've come 12th in the world! We have to be honest, there was probably some unladylike swearing from Sandra and much screaming from all of us (including Nancy who finally believed it after being told for the third time and being convinced it wasn't a cruel joke). We do this hobby because we love singing, harmony and friendship but it also gives us some lifetime magic moments. You can't beat that. Lucky for Nancy's husband Simon we didn't get another 12 marks. He'd promised to get a Eu4ia tattoo if we ever got into the top 10!
