Birmingham is hosting the UK Sweet Adelines barbershop singing championship from 11th to 13th of May 2007. The competitions and Show of Champions concert will be held at the Birmingham Symphony Hall, and it promises to be a firework of an event! More than 1200 women from all over the country will be competing in two categories: quartet and chorus competitions.

Full convention passes with prime seating are available in the following 3 price bands: £45 for non members; £40 for members of Sweet Adelines International and £20 for those aged 25 and under

Tickets for individual events are now on sale. Prices are £15 for the Saturday show, and £10 each for the 2 contest sessions. £8 for under 16s for all sessions.

Friday Quartet competitions - 5pm until 9.30pm
Saturday Chorus competitions - 12.30pm until 4:30 pm
Show of Champions featuring guest artists - 7:45 pm until 10:45 pm

The competition events are not deemed suitable for under 8's,
but Saturday’s Show of Champions certainly is!

(c) FreeFoto.com The weekend gets under way on Friday 11th, when the quartet competitions take place. The quartet competition starts at 5pm and is estimated to finish at 9:30pm. The chorus competition starts on Saturday 12th at 12:30pm and is estimated to finish at 4:15pm. The chorus competition results are followed by a mass sing where all the 1200 competitors sing together outside the arena (always very popular with the public).

On Saturday night we have our fantastic Show of Champions concert at 7:45 pm, where all the quartet and chorus winners (Gold, Silver and Bronze medallists) feature together with International Guest Artists – and we have the very best in store for Birmingham!

, will perform their show package and we know what they are capable of so that will definitely be another highlight!
